Under the agreement, NCR's worldwide customer services division will provide all maintenance and support services, including first and second-line maintenance, help desk, currency management, cash replenishment, and remote operational monitoring.

The company will also manage the staging and installation of any new ATMs - as well as all changes to the installed base of ATMs as required by Royal Bank - and manage all consumables such as ATM receipts, expected to be worth an additional $19 million for NCR's systemedia division.

Ron McClure, senior manager for self-serve networks, Royal Bank of Canada, says the bank will benefit from lower operational costs along with access to the latest technology.
