Commonwealth Bank installs Syntegra's ITS p31 switch at new HK trading floor

Commonwealth Bank of Australia has installed Syntegra's ITS p31 telephony switch, which was designed specifically for smaller trading floors, at its new offices in Hong Kong.

Traders at the new office are using IP-ready ITS pV405Hi and ITS pV105Hi turrets and pVs81Hi speakers, running on ITS Release 15 software.

The bank has also installed Syntegra's ITSprofile for configuration and monitoring of the ITS platform. The new installation replaces older Syntegra technology.

Daniel Bilski, head of finance and operations, Asia, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, based in Hong Kong, says the move to new offices allowed the bank to review and upgrade its trading floor technology.

"It was very good timing that Syntegra had just released the new switch for smaller trading floors - which suited our requirements, allowing us to keep costs down," says Bilski.

Syntegra also managed the technical aspects of the relocation and worked with other third party suppliers to fit out the new office - including the supply and installation of a UPS and the design of security access points, the structured cabling system and computer room, providing equipment racks, a Cisco Ethernet switch and Polycom SoundStations.
