Gavin Casey appointed KTS non-exec chairman

UK market data technology company Knowledge Technology Solutions has appointed former London Stock Exchange chief Gavin Casey as non-executive chairman.

A former chief operating officer at Smith New Court, Casey was chief executive of the London Stock Exchange from 1996 to 2000, stepping down from the role after the aborted merger between the London market and Germany's Deutsche Borse.

Casey, who currently holds down six other directorships, has been granted 2 million share options in AIM-traded KTS, half of which can be exercised at 15p and half at 25p between the second and sixth anniversary of grant. KTS shares are currently trading at 11.25 pence.

KTS chief executive, Marc Pinter-Krainer, says of the appointment: "Gavin's extensive experience in our industry is going to make a significant contribution to our continued development."
