The system is being implemented to improve organisational alignment, speed to change, employee retention and competency development and management, says Saba. The multi-lingual system boasts open, standards-based architecture, connectivity with existing HR and financial systems and the ability to address specific local needs from a single platform.

The giant Dutch bank is implementing the technology as the infrastructure for an Integrated Training & Learning Network (ITN) in the Netherlands. A highlight of ITN is the integration of competency profiles, assessments, learning content and course enrollment, which enables employees to take responsibility for their own learning process.
