Etrali releases PC-based IP trading turret

France Telecom subsidiary Etrali, a supplier of trading systems and network services for financial firms, has launched a PC-based IP speech activated trading turret, Etradeal Vision.

Etrali says ever more powerful PCs and greater bandwidth make it possible to address the requirements of trading room dealerboards using standard PC and Internet Protocol (IP) addressing.

Pascal Zerates, executive VP, Etrali, says: "Combining our trading turret capabilities with IP means that traders can access audio, e-mail, customer relationship management and videoconferencing applications from a single interface."

Zerates adds that Etradeal Vision is an access portal for a range of applications, including messaging, CRM and audio-conferencing, making it suitable for sales, back office and middle office activities.

The system allows for the simultaneous processing of multiple calls and includes line sharing, conference and intercom calls, playback of recorded calls and trader free-seating. This gives all trading room staff access to telecom resources directly from their PC - such as private lines, speed-dial numbers and directories.

Etrali says traders can use the system just as they would a regular PC. After logging on via a secure connection, they will find their personalised desktop environment wherever they are. The turret also features WiFi and GPRS wireless interfaces.

Etradeal Vision was previewed to US customers earlier in 2003 and is currently being evaluated by a Paris-based financial institution.
