Banks and financial institutions should quit viewing mobile as just another customer channel and wake up to its potential to generate significant new revenues. This is the message that Mobey Forum will carry to mobile banking and financial services professionals attending its second annual MobeyDay event, to be held in Barcelona on 11 June.
Hosted by CaixaBank and organised by Mobey Forum in association with Finextra, MobeyDay brings together thought leaders from across the mobile ecosystem, in a full programme of keynote and panel discussions exploring how the global financial services sector can 'Monetise the Mobile'.
Sirpa Nordlund, executive director of Mobey Forum, comments: "MobeyDay 2013 is about delivering a wakeup call. The low-hanging fruit has not yet been picked; we want to ensure that banks and financial institutions are fully aware of the channel's potential and work with them to leverage their strengths in the mobile financial services ecosystem."
With an agenda running for the full day, time has been allocated to topics including: what the mobile wallet will really look like; banking strategies for mobile point of sale (MPOS); the 'big data' opportunity for financial institutions; and the technological advancements in value added services. The full agenda can be viewed here.
Adds Nordlund. "This year we have a stellar cast of speakers and panellists, and are tackling a whole range of critical issues head on. We look forward to welcoming delegates to Barcelona."
Mobey Forum will also launch two new white papers at the MobeyDay event. The first paper will provide a comprehensive collection of industry definitions from across the mobile, financial, payments and related technology sectors. The second paper presents an overview of the current security trends relative to the mobile payments market. Copies of both papers will be available to attending delegates in advance of general release in the days following the conference.
The event will also include a delegate networking area showcasing the latest mobile banking services and products from leading banks, network operators, technology vendors and consultancies.
MobeyDay directly follows the Mobey Forum's Annual General Meeting in Barcelona, assuring a high quality audience of over 250 leading senior mobile executives from banks and financial institutions from across 20 European countries.
