Apart from above, Square 's business model and target customers are small merchants which brings thin margins, competition and deal with Starbucks are also affecting the bottom line.
Ofcourse, last few quarter moves are merchant friendly.
Hope to see FinTech pioneer comes to street and win confidence.

DOP has started move for customer acquistion strategy - Convert all of their NSC certificate holders as customer ( Opening account for them automatically) ofcourse customer services challanges remains for DOP.
I agree with your thought process and model but I would love DOP to explore BC (Business Correspondent) model as Safaricom used m-pesa agents to tackle brick and mortar (or last mile problem).
Safaricom/Vodafone agents used to carry cash and goes to remote kenyan villages remit the money sent by bread earners from cities of kenya.

Is this development due to Chinese currency devaluation or ease of trade between China and Europe as opportunity sought by Germany and acted faster than UK?

@Steve, thanks for putting up brilliant coverage of Biometric Authentication adoption across US and Europe. I always found your blogs full of insight backed with good stats and research.
If cross boarder travel's several risks (important one like terroriests and crime) and provision of biometric authentication de-risks some of it. We have take away from e- passport which has multiple biometric registration and validation for financial transactions authentication.

Good to see toiling of several hard working govt officials and agencies for biometric registration to the remotest of the villages in India from 2009 onwards with presently enrolled more than 925 million citizens (~74% coverage). Project 's cummulative cost as of FY 2014-15 is 900 million USD ( i.e. approximately 1 USD per citizen so far spend).
There is certainly lot many take away apart from budget and commercials i.e. technology on which World's largest biometric database is build by India ( 70 to 80 % open source components well integrated and build for scalability, fault tolerance, reliability and availability).
