Typo, should be "firm". However, the ban means that Mastercard partner banks can't issue new Mastercard cards to their customers.

I don't think its controversial to note that some older people (point taken on "elderly") are more likely to need to help adapting to digital services.
Last year Lloyds started a programme specifically aimed at helping over-70s bank online:
