Is this in English or does ChatGPT now support German and other non-English language LLMs?

Not that customers don't seek human touch but I see branches as serving the interest of banks more than banks' customers. I wrote Secret Of Survival Of Bank Branches in 2015. Eight years later, banks still sell best at the branch.

As Financial Brand put it, "The long-running debate over whether branches are dead, dying or just a costly albatross misses the key point: No business — banking included — succeeds or fails because of delivery channel efficiency. It lives on sales." 

Well that would ENTIRELY miss the point of crypto, which was invented with the express purpose to SUBVENT regulation.

AirBnB, Uber and a few other startups in regulated industries brazenly leveraged regulatory gaps and managed to grow too big to be regulated. Crypto did the first part but failed at the second one.

TY @Melvin Haskins! That resonates well with my experience of hiring and getting hired directly and via recruitment agencies. 

IME background check can happen after joining. However, every company - pvt sector or public sector - I know does a reference check before issuing offer letter. While refcheck is a quick-and-dirty activity compared to bagcheck, it does involve talking to a couple of previous employers to dipstick the applicant's character. In the current case, the guy has made so many false claims that even talking to one "previous employer" as a part of refcheck might have revealed that he was never a "previous employee" of the said employer!

Does anyone know whether OCC must carry out background checks before employees join or after?

In the case of virtually every private sector company I know, it's after. I've heard that it's before in the case of FBI, NCIS and other US federal law enforcement agencies. Per ChatGPT, it's before in the case of CFPB, OCC and other US federal regulatory agencies as well.

But, given the alleged propensity of ChatGPT to hallucinate, human feedback would be welcome!

Well said @Finextra Member. We've already started seeing the impact of mounting APP Scams in UPI in India. Slowly, there's a push to use UPIlite wallet, which is going back in time to the PayTM Wallet in the 2010s and Stored Value Cards I had in Germany in 2000s. Or delink the primary checking account from UPI and link a secondary account with minimum balance "that you can afford to lose", which is again like PayTM / SVC.

But ChatGPT *was* "built" - as in acquired 100M users - in 90 days.

Uber *did* launch taxi service in 600 cities in 3 years, including 100+ cities in India that never got taxis even in Roman Empire timescales. 

Digital products don't get timescales of analog products. The reason why digital business models get way more value than physical ones is that they can scale way faster than physical ones.

Nobody will give Rome-timescales for a digital payment category, especially one that has a track record of flopping repeatedly over the past 10 years. 

Survey?

As in they asked companies "Are you backsliding on sanctions screening?" and 75% of the surveyed companies said "Yes"?

There are many ways of finding out whether companies comply with sanctions screening requirements but I never thought survey could be one of them.

FinOps is a buzzword for sure but it's also key to boost ROI from cloud investments. With the advent of Generative AI, the role of FinOps is likely to increase even further. According to McKinsey, Generative AI will have a favorable impact on both the numerator and denominator of cloud ROI calculations and FinOps will be required to flesh out the details.
