Ah, ignore my last comment - the card number is printed in landcape on the back. Should've checked before posting...

Many websites that take payments for online purchases give you the option to capture an image of your card using the camera function - these all appear to be configured for landscape cards, so will they work with portrait-configured cards?

Customer adoption will definiteloy be an issue. Most consumers are completely unaware of open banking, and many surveys have indicated consumer reticence to share data. The current allegations around Cambridge Analytica's misuse of customer data from Facebook will doubtless make consumers even more reluctant to share their banking data with TPPs.

To respond to the query about sample sizes, statistical theory states that the margin of error on a randomly selected sample of 2,000 respondents is +/-2.2%, s this is not an issue.
That said, the survey results are simply not credible. The combined market share for digital-only banks such as Monzo, Starling Bank, Monese, Atom Bank etc. is clearly nowhere near 27% (Monzo, the highest profile new entrant, claims around 500,000 users).
Furthermore, most high street banks report online/mobile penetration of around 55-60%, so there is only a limited pool of customers for digital-only banks. I suspect Bob Lyddon is correct - some respondents may have confused online banking with digital-only banks. We really need to see the actual question wording used in order to reach a firm conclusion on this.

if open banking is to be anything other than an anti-climax when it goes live, there needs to a huge and intensive public education campaign by the regulator and the banks. We're less than two months from launch, and consumer awareness of what is happening is virtually non-existent.
