Sziget Kft the biggest Hungarian festival organizer decided to leave out cash from the biggest Hungarian summer festivals. The technology examined eligible according to my friend’s report. I’m going to check the choose technology at Sziget by myself. The Palinka festival that organized at spring was the first cash less festival in Hungary. At that time a bank solution was used. Of course Sziget Kft. as the organizer of the biggest Hungarian summer fests (Volt, Balaton Sound, Sziget) has different possibilities on negotiation whit possible suppliers. I made a comparison about the two organized cash less festivals so far by my aspect: Palinka festival • Availability: Only for drinks • Balance deposit: Depositing points • Balance inspection: Balance points • Speed of payment: Eligible • Further usage: As a debit card Volt • Availability: Whole festival • Balance deposit: Depositing points • Balance inspection: During purchase • Speed of payment: Eligible • Further usage: No According collected experience the cash less payment method fulfilled prior expectations: • Payment is faster • Disabled if lost • No problem with change • Tip is disappeared The new NFC able handheld devices will realign festival IT for sure. At next year we can pay by electronic wallet, thanks to the collaboration of manufacturers, banks and cell phone companies.
