I found this news release by the FBI quite amusing - http://www.fbi.gov/page2/oct08/threatletters_102308.html
It seems 'a series of threatening letters filled with an unknown powder started showing up at financial institutions across America'. Looks like a bunch of pranksters were frightening the already scared banks! The credit crisis has turned bankers to 'ashen faced and sullen lipped' zombies scurrying for cover. What we have seen so far really makes me wonder why anyone needs to send 'anthrax-like' letters to banks. Just send in a withdrawal cheque or insert your debit card in the bank's ATM and that has the banks shivering!
This caper looks to be the handiwork of some really distressed customers or perhaps laid off bank employees!
For the first time in economic history, we are looking at a recession brought in by 'sound' bankers!
