The 'public' are often given less credit than they deserve. Becoming a victim of identity theft or fraud really ruins the day of the average consumer, and word gets around. I wouldn't be surprised that the combination of recent events and growing trends might give rise to a new more militant and discerning consumer, but I could easily be wrong on that one.
It is certain that some institutions won't be held in the high esteem they once were.
What price trust? I think we have all seen the answer to that one now.
A little note 5 mins before the US markets open Tuesday - I'm optimistic.
