We are always reporting that high levels of women are leaving the IT industry due to family commitments, however now it has been claimed that record numbers of mothers are returning to work. Laing & Buisson claim that women are having children later in life when they have developed their careers and when they have more income to pay for childcare. It is positive to see that more women are return to their careers and it’s encouraging to think that many employers are supporting this. Let’s hope that some of these women are technologists and that the sector is taking full advantage of their talent.
