Ukraine's AO Ukrinbank signs TietoEnator to upgrade payment cards system

TietoEnator, one of the major European suppliers of IT solutions, and AO Ukrinbank have entered into an agreement for upgrading the bank's system for payment cards.

TietoEnator's Card Suite solution is designed to advance bank's business in the area of issuing international Visa and MasterCard Europe cards, as well as migrating to issuing and acquiring EMV cards in line with the requirements of international payment systems. The functionality of the system facilitates the implementation of new banking technologies to accept payments for products and services through terminal devices as well as to expand a range of card products.

"In February 1997 the bank commenced cooperation with TietoEnator, and since then the company has proved to be a reliable partner. The company is in my opinion one of the leading suppliers of software products on the Ukrainian market. TietoEnator offers well elaborated and complex solutions that enable dynamic and systematic expansion of the services that Ukrainian banks now offer to customers," said Nikolaj Nechaj, director of payment systems and technologies department at AO Ukrinbank.

"We are aiming at providing a modern, reliable, and complex solution to translate a variety of customers' concepts into reality concerning the processing and application of payment cards. We are confident that AO Ukrinbank, having implemented TietoEnator's Card Suite, will be able to conduct its business at a new level," said Ludmila Vasyagina, head of TietoEnator's office in Ukraine.
