This announcement comes as Xero’s data shows Canada’s small business sales slowing, highlighting the challenging environment businesses are facing. By using Clik2pay on the Xero platform, small businesses can offer their customers an easy and familiar payment option - while saving up to 50 per cent or more versus credit card fees.

“Our Xero Small Business Insights over the last several months show that small businesses are continuing to navigate the ongoing pressure of uncertainty from the dual impact of high inflation and a slowing economy,” said Faye Pang, Country Manager Canada, at Xero. “The integration with Clik2pay is coming at a crucial time to offer our customers a way to save money on their payment processing, when their other costs are on the rise.”

“One of the things I pride myself on is taking care of my clients,” said Mark Lelievre, Partner, McEvoy, Lelievre & Associates. “Using Clik2pay gives my customers a safe, secure payment option that is integrated right into the invoice. I also like that this is something all Canadians can use because Clik2pay is available to anyone with an account at a Canadian bank or credit union.”

“In 2020, there were over 5 billion Interac® debit card transactions in-store, but paying invoices online from your bank account has been very difficult – until now,” said Mike Bradley, Founder and CEO of Clik2pay. “Clik2pay makes paying incredibly easy for customers. And businesses also benefit from the faster time to receive payments, more efficient collections and seamless reconciliation.”

Xero users can add a Clik2pay button to their invoices, that allow the customer to pay directly from their bank account of choice. The payments are fast, and will automatically reconcile in Xero with no chargebacks.

Clik2pay leverages bank-grade security and the highest standards for risk management by using one of the most secure money transfer systems in the world. Clik2pay supports bill and invoice payments from customer bank accounts by text message, e-mail or QR code. Clik2pay features for businesses include easy-to-use APIs, end-to-end payment tracking, real-time notifications, status updates, transaction history and a complete settlement file.
