In the coming 90 days founders of fintech startups from the UK to Estonia will gather in Amsterdam to take their companies to the next stage with the help of both ABN AMRO and Techstars mentors.

After launching a successful first virtual program during the pandemic, the second edition of Future of Finance Accelerator runs in-person in Amsterdam. The 2022 class is diverse in background and ambitious in shaping the future of finance in the areas of sustainability, digital assets and fintech.

The ten companies have been chosen from over 300 applications from all over Europe. They will go through Techstars’ three-month accelerator program during which they are surrounded by a community of mentors, investors, alumni, and partners. Techstars provides funding and fundraising opportunities, workshops and curated resources, culminating in a Demo Day taking place on December 8th.

“With the venture funding environment cooled down significantly, helping founders accelerate is now more essential than before,” says Allard Luchsinger, Managing Director of the ABN AMRO + Techstars Future of Finance Accelerator. “There is a great deal of talent out there, founders building companies at the intersections of fintech, sustainability and digital assets. At Techstars we are committed to help them on their journey from idea to successful company."

“ABN AMRO is a partner of the Future of Finance Accelerator because we want to support innovative start-ups, strengthening the Netherlands' position as a breeding ground for fintechs,” says Edwin van Bommel, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at ABN AMRO. “We support the founders with our knowledge of strategic topics like sustainability and digital assets. At the same time, the founders teach us about new trends, which we as a bank can benefit from.”

Techstars, which has been operating since 2006, has helped build thousands of successful companies, all over the world. Parisian decentralised custody security firm DFNS, one of the companies in the 2021 Future of Finance Accelerator in Amsterdam, earlier this year raised €12.5 million in a seed funding round only nine months after finishing the Accelerator program. The funding round was led by White Star Capital, with ABN AMRO as one of the participants.
