The Anglo-Irish fintech already has a foothold in Australia, Canada and the USA and recently raised £5.4m in a Series A funding round to accelerate international expansion.

Andrea Reynolds, CEO and Founder of Swoop, says that the company’s expansion into the northwest of England comes at a crucial moment in the company’s lifecycle:

“Swoop is a fast-growing business. Our revenues are forecast to increase by 450 percent this year thanks to a surge in demand from SMEs for finance that meets their needs. But we are growing fast because we meet and understand our customers on a human level.”

Andrea says that Liverpool is a logical step for expansion in the UK:
“There is huge opportunity in the region. For too long, London has dominated the business finance scene, and post-pandemic, we have seen SMEs popping up across the country. Swoop is going to meet our customers where they are and bring them the access to funding that SMEs need to thrive.”

More than 75,000 businesses have already used Swoop’s software platform to investigate and access funding sources including equity, grants, loans and tax credits. The opening of an office in Water Street, Liverpool, will provide 20 high quality jobs in the city, which will in turn fuel further business growth for the region’s SMEs.
