Santander Bank names Pierre Habis chief consumer and digital transformation officer

Santander Bank, N.A. (“Santander Bank” or “Santander”) today announced that Pierre Habis has taken on expanded responsibilities as the new Chief Consumer & Digital Transformation Officer.

In this role, Habis will oversee Santander Bank’s digital transformation, leveraging Santander’s global technology assets and expertise to expand the Bank’s digital capabilities and enhance the experience for customers across the United States.

To create capacity for Habis’ expanded responsibilities, Santander Bank also announced that Patrick Smith has been elevated to Head of Consumer and Business Banking, overseeing Santander’s branch business, retail investments, small business banking, and corporate social responsibility. Smith will continue to report to Habis and join the Santander US Leadership Team.

“Patrick’s depth of knowledge and experience set him up for success in this new role and, under his leadership, I’m confident that the Consumer and Business Bank business will continue to execute our strategy, deliver strong performance and help our customers prosper,” said Pierre Habis, Chief Consumer & Digital Transformation Officer.

Smith joined Santander Bank in 2020 as the Head of Small Business Banking. He brings more than 25 years of financial services experience, having previously served in leadership roles at Key Bank, Capitol One and Wells Fargo. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science from Tuskegee University, an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from the University of Virginia.
