The agreement accelerates MDOTM’s international growth following the €6.2 Series-B round raised in September 2021. Thanks to the operation, the Fintech scaleup increases its expertise in AI applied to game theory, rare events forecasting and tail risk management.

Mercurius’ data scientists will become part of MDOTM’s R&D team and will further enhance ALICE® - MDOTM’s proprietary AI platform. These hires bring the total headcount in MDOTM’s R&D and LAB to more than 50 people, making it one of Europe’s largest investment-focused AI teams.

Founded by a group of mathematicians in 2017, Mercurius Betting Intelligence is a B2B2C startup specialising in AI technology to control, trade and capitalise on sports betting markets. The company uses proprietary deep learning algorithms to systematically analyse millions of data points per sporting event, in order to find and exploit inefficient odds in the betting markets.

Tommaso Migliore, CEO & Founder of MDOTM, said: “Over the past six years, we became one of Europe’s largest investment-focused AI and Machine Learning research teams. The unique know-how brought by Mercurius’ team will further strengthen MDOTM’s in-house capabilities and keep bringing our clients the best technology for investment decision-making.”
