Using BPC’s SmartVista Platform for switching and Card Management system, SCB will be able to provide hyper-personalised services for customers and elevate the experience of digital banking across the nation.

The bank has selected the SmartVista ATM switching and card management system for its peerless, user experience design and the flexibility to configure products to suit the bank’s specific requirement - without the need for coding or additional investment.

BPC SmartVista will improve SCB’s payment method including the card transaction at ATM, POS and E-Commerce as well as shorten the time and process to issue card and at the same time integrating many features on Internet Banking and Mobile Banking channels to allow customers to proactively fulfil their card service needs. This move enhances the digital banking experience with SCB.

In addition to creating highly tailored services, SCB will also deploy next generation, self-service Virtual Teller Machines to help on-board and issue cards for customers and facilitate transactions. The bank will further extend its POS acquiring business in partnership with Visa and Mastercard using SmartVista solution

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nha Nam, Deputy CEO of Operation and IT Division of SCB said: “As a leading bank in Vietnam, we invest strongly in new generation technology to spearhead digital adoption among our retail and business clients. With BPC, we are working alongside a partner with a strong understanding of our market and a comprehensive and extendable platform that will help us accelerate our digital transformation to deliver a superior customer experience. ”

Terry Steven Paleologos, Managing Director, BPC Asia Pacific, said: “We are excited to support SCB on their journey. SCB was seeking a low code, API-first platform flexible enough to keep control over their strategy, which they found in BPC’s SmartVista. We look forward to working hard to meet their ambitions for creating world class digital banking experiences for their customers.”
With a population of 97 million people, Vietnam is set to see its mobile transactions increase by 300% between 2021 and 2025 due to the strong growth anticipated in mobile payments. Around 80 percent of Vietnamese consumers predict an increase in their use of cashless payments and a diminishing reliance on cash.

This trend has only been further catalysed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to an accelerated push towards card adoption and an uptick in demand for modern online banking services.
