Cognizant hires John Weisel to North American banking and financial services team

Today, Cognizant (Nasdaq: CTSH) is pleased to welcome John Weisel to the company as Market Leader, Banking and Financial Services North America.

Based in New York, Weisel will be focused on the banking, capital markets, wealth and asset management, professional services, and private markets sectors, working with client facing teams to expand business relationships. These financial market segments make up over 30% of Cognizant’s business, representing approximately $6B in annual. With more than 35 years of experience in management consulting globally, Weisel has extensive expertise is in the banking and capital markets sectors, with functional expertise in business transformation, business and technology strategy, strategic cost management, and finance and risk.

Prior to Cognizant, Weisel was the Global Managing Director of talent management services for ZRG Partners. He oversaw the practice across all industries in the Americas, EMEA and APAC for the provision of talent strategy, management, and acquisition services for the Professional Services Sector. This included management consulting, business, and technology services, including all digital solutions. He joined ZRG Partners from EY where he was the Global Consulting Services Leader of the financial services consulting business. Weisel was also a partner in the financial services practice at Accenture for 14 years.

Weisel is a trustee and former Chair of the Board of Trustees at Westminster College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts with Honors. Weisel also earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance at the University of Maryland.
