In partnership with Geldmaat and Mastercard, ABN AMRO is the first major bank in the Netherlands to make it easier for its clients to get cash from all Geldmaat ATMs. The cardless cash initiative is a new way of withdrawing money.

Cynthia Tulp, Director of Payments at ABN AMRO: “Even though people are using far less cash these days, we’re still investing in new payment solutions. Clients increasingly want to have all their payment solutions on their mobile phones. With the ABN AMRO app, they can now withdraw cash without using their plastic card. Very useful if you’ve forgotten your card but want cash.”

The cardless cash function is available in the ABN AMRO app from today. It appears automatically when a client uses the ABN AMRO app to scan the QR code on an ATM. They can simply log in using their identification code, fingerprint or face recognition, select their payment account and the amount they want, and then confirm the transaction.
