Wachovia names Gerald Enos head of operations, technology and e-commerce

Wachovia Corporation announced today that Gerald A. 'Jerry' Enos, Jr., has been named head of Operations, Technology and eCommerce for the company, effective immediately.

Enos has been with Wachovia for nearly 25 years serving in a variety of business and infrastructure roles – most recently as head of Operations.

"Jerry is an extraordinary leader who has the experience and talent to help propel this division forward," said Ken Thompson, Wachovia chairman and chief executive officer. "He is known among his peers and team as a thoughtful and analytical leader who brings a strong base of diverse banking experience to the role. I am confident that Jerry will continue to manage this division efficiently and partner effectively with other Wachovia leaders to support our customer service and business growth goals. We are incredibly fortunate to have an individual with Jerry’s talents assume this position for Wachovia."

As head of Operations, Technology and eCommerce, Enos will have overall leadership responsibility for management and oversight of Wachovia’s online channels, technology infrastructure, applications and operational services of Wachovia.

Jean E. Davis, Wachovia's head of Operations, Technology and eCommerce, announced today that she will be retiring from Wachovia in the coming months after a 21-year career at Wachovia.

"Jean has been a stellar leader for the Operations, Technology and eCommerce division and for our company. It is because of her vision and perseverance that Wachovia’s operations, eCommerce and technology infrastructure is a strong and powerful platform that has become a competitive advantage for us," said Thompson. "She is a great example of a balanced leader who creates a compelling vision, executes flawlessly and motivates her team to deliver."

As head of Operations, Enos provided overall leadership support for Business Integration Services, Operations Solutions, Payment Services, Deposit, Control and Loss Operations, Risk Operations, Security Services, Utility Services, and Wholesale Operations.

In addition to his financial services experience, Enos has completed leadership and management programs at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Duke University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Enos graduated from Guilford College with a bachelors degree in Economics.
