Both executives have gone through a 100% virtual onboarding, along with +100 employees that joined the company since March 12th. Despite the pandemic, Nubank keeps on actively hiring key positions.

Born in Australia, David Currie is joining Nubank to lead the Information Security team as Chief Information Security Officer. He has 20 years of experience working in the financial industry, with high-level roles in Barclays and VISA, among other leading companies. He has lived in Melbourne, London, and Hong Kong and will relocate to Brazil once international traveling is restored.

Marco Araújo has joined the digital bank in the past days as Global General Counsel, leading Nubank's Legal team, a key role as the company continues its international expansion. Marco worked for HSBC for the past 6 years and he spent the last 4 as HSBC Commercial Bank Global General Counsel, based in London. Previously, he worked for leading international banks in Brazil. Now he is relocating back to Brazil from London along with his family.

“Nubank continues with its hiring efforts and we are putting together a truly global team, with the best talent there is out there. With the welcoming of Currie and Araujo, we will reinforce two key areas to continue with Nubank’s sustainable growth, offering our 23 million clients robust financial services they can trust and love”, explained David Vélez, CEO and founder of Nubank, and added “It fills us with pride that even during this terrible pandemic, we are able to hire more than 130 amazing talents that are going through a 100% digital onboarding process.”

Currie and Araujo are not the only C-level executives that joined Nubank in 2020. Earlier this year, the company announced that Marcelo Kopel had been hired as CFO, Jag Duggal joined as Chief Product Officer and Youssef Lahrech was appointed Global Head of Analytics and Technology.
