He succeeds outgoing chairman Harris Brumfield and maintains his responsibilities as chief executive officer.

Lane originally joined Trading Technologies in 2010 when TT acquired the company he co-founded, TickIt Trading Systems. He became CTO in 2012 before he was named CEO by Brumfield in 2014. Since then, he has spearheaded the development of the company's flagship trading platform, TT®, along with other initiatives that have allowed Trading Technologies to expand beyond their roots as a trading screen provider.

“Rick’s success is a reflection of the tremendous work he and the entire TT team have done, and Rick in the chairman role will serve to better support them as they continue redefining the industry’s technology landscape,” said Brumfield. “I am excited to see how Trading Technologies will continue to grow and evolve.”

This move follows TT’s announcement of the X_TRADER® platform sunset, underscoring the company’s progression from a screen-driven business to one that provides professional-grade trading tools, data solutions and market infrastructure services. The company also recently announced its latest product, TT® OMS, a full-service order management system that will deliver much-needed innovation to the OMS space, in addition to cost efficiencies, vertical integration and technology consolidation.
