Russia's Industry and Construction Bank licenses Lucent VitalQIP software

Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) today announced that Industry and Construction Bank (Promstroybank) of St. Petersburg, Russia, has selected Lucent's award-winning VitalQIP Domain Name Server/Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DNS/DHCP) solution for securely managing IP addresses for more than 3,000 workstations in its corporate network.

The solution is being delivered by AstroSoft, a local software integrator, and AMTEL, a Lucent accredited sales business partner.

The VitalQIP solution was chosen for its ease-of-use, centralized management, high availability, reliability, and various reporting options.

"The competition in the banking services market is growing very fast," said Vadim Konovalenko, the head of Promstroybank's communications department. " Lucent's VitalQIP solution will allow us to automate services management, significantly reduce provisioning time, improve network performance and tighten security of the bank's network. It will also improve the quality of service and our customers' overall communication experience."

Using Lucent's best-of-breed IP management software, Promstroybank has deployed the Lucent DHCP servers in a many-to-one failover configuration in conjunction with the Lucent DNS server. VitalQIP will be fully integrated with their Microsoft Active Directory implementation. These combined services ensure 100 percent uptime and a seamless approach to managing a continually changing network.
