GoSwiff, a global financial solutions provider, announced today with UniCredit, one of the major financial institutions in Romania, and MasterCard, operating the world’s fastest payments processing network, a partnership to launch mobile payments in Romania.
The partnership is created to enable Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari agents to start accepting card payments with mobile point of sale (mPOS) for the insurance policies issued by the company. Thus, Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari becomes the first insurance company in Romania to offer this solution, enabling the client to pay insurance premium directly to the agent who sells the insurance policy.
Allianz-Tiriac is one of the leading insurers on the Romanian market with over 2,800 insurance agents across the country. The company integrated to its product portfolio an innovative payment acceptance solution on the go for its agents to help them close the deals with customers during a meeting and to provide the customer with a convenience to pay the premium on the spot.
“For Allianz-Tiriac, the mobile point of sale (mPOS) represents another step we made towards the improvement of the customer experience. We have to point out we are the first insurance company on the Romanian market that launches this innovative payment method and this partnership with UniCredit Bank, MasterCard and GoSwiff is in line with our digital strategy, helping us provide fast and reliable services for our clients”, said Bogdan Zamfirescu, Head of Operations Back Office Division within Allianz-Tiriac.
The new platform for payments processing via mPOS has all the elements an insurance service provider would need to increase insurance sales with card acceptance, including merchant portal to manage the insurance packages, promotions, and agents in the field, equip them with easy to use mobile payment applications and high quality card readers. This not only allows a greater number of agents to accept digital payments, but also improves the buying experience for their customers – by making the transaction easier, safer and more efficient.
“Within this partnership, UniCredit Bank offers the mobile payment acceptance solution, a solution that, we are convinced, will offer increased benefits in terms of increased efficiency and competitiveness to our partner Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari. The current collaboration is in line with UniCredit Bank's strategy to always offer the most advanced technologies and high quality services to our customers and partners”, said Gabriel Jeflea, Global Transactional Banking Director, at UniCredit Bank.
Starting with 2015, Romanian financial legislation requires a new limit set on cash transactions aiming to increase transparency, to enhance control over cash transactions and to stirring usage of electronic payments, encouraging consumers to use electronic methods of payment.
“We are proud to be, once again, on the forefront of innovation in mobile payments solutions and, through this partnership, we are showcasing the drive to move away from cash whilst reaffirming our technological prowess in providing the optimal solution. We would like to thank our partners for sharing our vision and we would like to restate our commitment to further support businesses and governments, in developing card acceptance infrastructure to the benefit of consumers”, said Gabriel Ghiță, Head of New Business CEE at MasterCard.
“Being selected by one of the leading banks in Romania demonstrates our capabilities in di fferent markets and further expands our reach in Eastern Europe. We are delighted to enter into this partnership to help Allianz-Ti riac in launching this innovative solution on the Romanian market. MasterCard’s and UniCredit Bank’s combined expertise in the card payment industry complements our mobile payment offering perfectly”, said Stefano Diemmi, Head of Europe & Global Accounts,
GoSwiff.
