HAL Knowledge Solutions, the leading provider of Application Portfolio Management (APM) solutions, today announces the appointment of Kevin Tumulty as Senior Vice President of Sales.
Highly experienced in sales management and with a financial services background, Tumulty will help consolidate HAL's market leading position. He will play a central role in achieving HAL's key business objectives, delivering growth in markets both within and outside Europe.
A key element of this growth will be to raise boardroom awareness of the crippling cost and business inefficiencies that result from a lack of visibility of legacy applications. In a recent survey, 60 senior financial sector IT professionals concluded that on average, only 40% of the applications portfolio is visible for constructive analysis. This causes significant challenges as businesses strive for efficiency through technology migration, outsourcing and governance strategies. HAL is one of only a small number of vendors to provide a solution.
Tumulty joins HAL from Mercury Interactive where he spent two years as area Vice President Northern and Southern Europe, a E100m plus operation with approximately 150 people. He has over 16 years sales and sales management experience, including 8 years at Data General in various sales, management and project management roles. Tumulty spent 4 years at Peregrine Systems where he was Area Vice President Central Europe, Northern Europe, and UK Managing Director, providing infrastructure and asset management solutions to the Global 1000.
Niccolò Garzelli, CEO of HAL said, "Kevin's extensive sales and sales management experience and proven track record make him a vital addition to our management team. His financial services background is also important, as it adds to the specialist vertical knowledge within our sales team. The finance sector is a major target area as their core IT systems are often at least 15 years old."
Prior to moving into IT sales and management, Tumulty worked for 10 years in the financial services sector with Bank of America and County Nat West both in the UK and Japan.
Commenting on his new role, Tumulty said, "Application Portfolio Management is a vital tool to allow visibility of legacy systems that are under increasing compliance and IT governance pressures, especially in the financial sector. As the current market leader HAL has a great opportunity to expand rapidly, and I am looking forward to the challenge of an aggressive sales drive."
