Up from June 2015, Bank Austria, member of Group UniCredit, will offer its online clients CardTAN to authorize their online banking transactions.
For this purpose, it cooperates with Worms-based Kobil Systems GmbH. The provider of mobile security platforms will provide the high street bank’s clients with respective TAN generators available at a webshop. With these new gained clients, Kobil will significantly expand its position on the Austrian market.
Bank Austria will offer its clients CardTAN to secure their online transactions. The TAN generator required - “TAN Optimus Comfort“ - will be available to interested customers at Kobil’s webshop, which will be linked to the bank’s website. The device has been approved by STUZZA and meets STUZZA‘s requirements CAPP HHD V1.2 (STUZZA = Studiengesellschaft zur Zusammenarbeit im Zahlungsverkehr / Research Association for Cooperation in Payment Transactions) towards reliable online banking readers to be used by Austrian banks.
With Bank Austria, Kobil will significantly expand its position on the Austrian market. Erste Group and IT service provider ARZ Allgemeines Rechenzentrum GmbH, which provides IT services for about 70 finance institutes, already are renowned Kobil clients in Austria. And chances for gaining even more large-scale clients are good.
“Of course we are pleased to welcome high street bank Bank Austria as our new client. This significantly improves our position on the Austrian market“, says Adnan Garip, Kobil Systems’ Chief Marketing Officer for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “Their decision for our system on the one hand speaks for the good quality of our products and services and at the same time indicates the bank’s high level of security awareness by wanting to offer its clients maximum security in internet banking”. Garip is confident that Kobil will be able to win more banking customers interested in the TAN generator and other security products. Opposite to the iTAN procedure, which is so far still quite common among Austrian business clients, CardTAN provides effective protection from phishing and other criminal cyber-attacks.
“Our TAN generators are a huge step towards more security. Our mobile security platform allows us to even expand reliable and convenient customer experiences. This platform fully releases bank institutes and their clients from SMS transaction authorization and additionally facilitates other forms of use“.For Bank Austria, Wolfgang Trexler, responsible for products in the online banking security sector, comments: „We strive to offer our clients online services that facilitate reliable and convenient transactions and provide maximum protection from internet threats such as phishing or Trojans. Kobil‘s TAN generator comes with a perfect price-performance ratio, and Kobil perfectly supports us with the logistics of distributing these devices“. For more information, please visit our website.
