Poynt shared the news while demonstrating the Smart Terminal's advanced features and partner integrations to more than 7,500 banking and payments executives at the Money20/20 conference during Poynt founder and CEO Osama Bedier's keynote.

"Kick-starting an ecosystem requires a balance of great symbiotic partnerships with lighthouse brands that inspire others to join," said Bedier, who is also the creator of Google Wallet and a former long-time PayPal senior executive. "Chase and Vantiv are among the top payment technology companies in the country with close to a million merchants and a trillion dollars of payment volume. We couldn't be more excited to have them among a fantastic group of founding partners that also includes EVO, POS Portal and Creditcall."

The announcement comes just days after the Poynt Smart Terminal was unveiled. The device reimagines a traditional payment terminal as a smart, multipurpose device that brings the unlimited versatility of mobile to a future-proof payment terminal. With PoyntOS running on an open platform, innovative applications give merchants access to tools and technology that help manage every facet of their business directly through the Smart Terminal.

"We are pleased to help enable Poynt, which provides small and medium-sized merchants with new capabilities for enhancing the purchase experience," said Daniela Mielke, chief strategy and product officer at Vantiv. "Companies like Poynt are changing the face of payments by helping simplify and future-proof payment acceptance. We look forward to working with them as our newest ecosystem partner."

Just as developers will continue to play a significant role in cultivating the Poynt ecosystem, banks, processors, and other financial institutions have worked with Poynt to help the company understand the needs of merchants on a massive scale. Poynt's founding partners have made substantial contributions to a device that will fundamentally change the lives of merchants.

"Our merchants want to accept payments easily and securely through all types of payment channels," said Michael K. Passilla, CEO of Chase Merchant Services, the global payment processing, merchant acquiring and offers business of JPMorgan Chase & Co. "We are pleased to work with Poynt to integrate their Smart Terminal POS device into our suite of innovative payment solutions."

The Poynt Smart Terminal is available for pre-order at $299 and will begin shipping to merchants in early 2015.
