"Consumers and organisations can no longer use passwords as a defense against hackers and fraudsters. Passwords are prehistoric in terms of authentication and leave everyone vulnerable. Consumers and organisations not only need better, they deserve better from technology providers. With new threats, more frequent attacks and bigger breaches, we need a unified response, an industry response," said Adam Dolby, Vice President of Business Development at Encap Security. "The FIDO Alliance brings the industry together to raise awareness of the enormous challenges around online authentication. Critically, it is helping to build standards. And we need standards to ensure the sustainability and utility of authentication both today and into the future. This is why the FIDO Alliance is so important and why we're proud to be a part of it."

"We are excited to welcome our newest associate member Encap Security," said Michael Barrett, FIDO Alliance president. "The FIDO vision of universal strong authentication promises better security, enhanced privacy, more commerce and expansion of services throughout digital industries. Encap Security's addition to our Alliance supports our industry goal to make user authentication easier and safer for all parties."
