Caxton FX, the foreign exchange specialist and prepaid currency card provider, today announced the launch of a traveller's must-have - its first mobile app.
The app has been designed to provide Caxton FX currency card customers with an additional way to manage their prepaid currency cards while abroad. For travellers who get confused when trying to convert their Yen or Dirham in their head, the app also includes an innovative on-the-spot currency conversion feature. The app has been developed for iPhone, and is available in the iTunes store now.
The currency converter feature is available to all users who download the app, not just Caxton FX customers, and it allows users to instantly convert any currency into pounds to give holidaymakers a better sense of their spending. For example, a user could hold their phone over a menu and see the price converted from euros to pound at the current exchange rate, making the app an essential tool for anyone travelling abroad this year.
With the currency converter feature making understanding foreign currency stress-free for travellers, Caxton FX customers will also be able to check the balance of all the Caxton FX currency cards they hold, as well as letting them top up their cards and view their transaction history.
The main features of the Caxton FX app include:
• View prepaid currency card balances
• Top up prepaid currency cards
• View account transaction history
• AR currency converter
James Hickman, MD of Caxton FX, commented:
"We're committed to making our customers' lives easier, and the Caxton FX iPhone app will allow them to take even greater control of their finances when they're abroad this summer.
"Our research found that 1 in 5 Brits are only able to convert amounts up to €50 in their heads, so clearly Brits need a little help with currency conversion and we hope our app will give people greater confidence with money while they're on holiday.
"We already allow people to manage their prepaid card accounts by SMS, phone and online, so our new mobile app is another way we're helping our customers this summer."
