BPC Banking Technologies, the leading provider of Open System e-payment solutions for the global financial industry, announced that the implementation of its SmartVista suite in OceanBank (Vietnam) has been completed.
BPC was chosen thanks to its proven market experience with leading local Vietnamese banks, speed of implementation and a reputation for successful projects across the country.
Previously running disparate legacy processing systems, there has been a limitation in both introducing new products for OceanBank's clients in a timely manner and interfacing effectively to local service providers. Moreover, the Bank's legacy infrastructure prevented it from integrating directly with the international payment schemes, implementing EMV and achieving PCI-DSS certification.
Now, with an end-to-end flexible and scalable SmartVista solution, OceanBank is able to get to market faster, maximize service to its clients, while significantly reducing TCO. The new e-payment processing platform based on SmartVista allows the Bank to take direct control over its payment business, issuing new card products, offering value added services to clients such as eSavings and interbank transfers, while also benefiting from sophisticated fraud prevention capabilities.
The Bank is planning to issue one million cards by 2014, enlarge its terminal network up to 600 ATMs and grow to 1,500 POS-terminals over the next five years.
