Trûb and MAOSCO today announced an agreement for Trûb to join the MULTOS Consortium.
On joining, Trûb will gain an influential seat in the Business Advisory Group & Systems Forum of the MULTOS standards body. As a Systems member, Trûb will contribute to the MULTOS consortium's business activities, and be involved in the future development of guidelines relating to off-card data preparation and personalisation of applications for MULTOS and MULTOS step/one cards.
Trûb has already gained high profile references for combining its specialist skills in the manufacture of durable card substrates, and security printing techniques, with its MULTOS embedding and personalization expertise, in one of the most high profile smart ID card projects in the world, the Hong Kong Smart ID card. In the course of 2004, Trûb also worked with MAOSCO and the other MULTOS consortium members to demonstrate the first OneSMART MasterCard Branch Issuance Solution for MULTOS, and also demonstrated the first Instant Issuance solution for ICAO compliant e-Passport applications utilising contactless MULTOS chips. Trûb and the MULTOS consortium members will jointly demonstrate further smart card issuance solutions for financial and ID MULTOS projects in 2005.
Fernando Dal Zotto, CEO of Trûb AG in Aarau, Switzerland, said: "Joining the MULTOS consortium was the logical next step for us to maintain our leadership in the delivery of national smart ID card projects, and to develop solutions to meet new market needs such as ICAO and instant issuance. We also look forward to working with the other consortium members to further streamline our MULTOS offering to our customers."
Steve Everhard, CEO of MAOSCO Ltd., said: "Trûb's credentials as the leading smart ID card supplier make them an excellent addition to the MULTOS consortium. We look forward to working with Trûb to develop new MULTOS business in 2005."
