As a fully managed service, StormMQ requires no capital expenditure on hardware or infrastructure and removes the ongoing cost and complexity of managing on-site message queuing servers and applications.

Developed by a UK based team that has spent the last decade working on major message queuing projects for some of the world's largest telecommunication carriers and financial institutions, StormMQ embraces the AMQP standard and has an extensive development library support for a host of environments including Java, .NET, Ruby, Python and PHP on Linux, Windows, Solaris and Mac OS X.

"Machine-to-machine message queuing is undergoing a major shift through globalisation with open standards and increased competition allowing more companies to take advantage of enterprise grade messaging," comments Raph Cohn, Managing Director of StormMQ, "The issue for many organisations integrating disparate systems using message queuing has always been cost, performance, data security and regulatory compliance - StormMQ is the only service to meet all these issues in a single, scalable and UK based platform."

StormMQ is the first enterprise class message queuing platform designed for cloud, co-located or hosted deployment with an open standards approach to integration and development. The platform is designed from the ground up to scale and is primarily delivered as a managed service. The basic service is free for low volume users and can be upgraded with increasing functionality to match customer needs reaching a high-end offering, which offers industry standard functionality at the lowest price point in the market.

To ensure absolute security for sensitive data traffic, StormMQ is also the first managed service to offer a 256-bit IPSEC VPN as well as AES disk level encryption using non-proprietary cryptographic algorithms as standard. Security is further enhanced by StormMQ's Locate-ITTM option for users to own all encrypted disks at the start of a ccontract to be certain of their disposal. This provides certificates on the location and ownership of hardware throughout any contract.

"Using cryptography to secure your data is only one side of the compliance story: businesses require clearly defined SLAs, a guarantee of the location of your data and a documented data destruction policy to meet their obligations under the Data Protection Act and other industry-specific compliance rules." explains Ross Cooney, Commercial Director for StormMQ, "It's these policies and procedures that we've designed into our offering that really give StormMQ its competitive advantage in the messaging market."

Based on a flexible yet powerful framework, StormMQ is able to meet the needs of a wide variety of architectures and application requirements. The system has been tested thoroughly with leading third party applications such as VMWare's RabbitMQ and RedHat-Apache's QPid. The platform offers message sizes from 1 byte up to 50Mb to satisfy even the most demanding of applications.

"We have a number of beta customers, primarily from application developers and system integrators who want to introduce StormMQ into existing applications to alleviate previously intractable bottlenecks. We're building these relationships into a channel for trade partners in the application development, embedded devices and finance sectors and we hope to announce some successes in these areas soon," Cooney adds.

"Based in the UK and delivered from ISO approved data centres supported by local technical teams and consultants, StormMQ provides a comprehensive portfolio of value added services including training and technical support to help clients and partners design, implement and manage both legacy and next generation environments. StormMQ's No-Lock InTM Option guarantees clients aren't tied in with one vendor with no exit strategy and provides service to help seamlessly move off StormMQ to a competitor.

"StormMQ the first of the next generation of Message Queuing Platforms that are designed for today's complex application integration environment and our goal is to quickly building a reputation for innovation, low cost and rock solid performance that will change the industry," Cohn concludes.
