Tieto opens sites in China and India

As a part of Tieto's growth strategy, the company continues to strengthen its operations in Asia by opening two new sites and appointing country managers for China and India.

The new sites will be located in Bangalore, India, and in Hangzhou in the People's Republic of China. Tieto's Asian operations are currently based in China (Beijing, Chengdu), India (Pune, Hyderabad) and Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) with a total of almost 2 000 R&D and IT professionals. With the new sites we ensure our ability to grow and serve our customers, as well as strengthen our R&D services.

Patrick Lui (1967) has been appointed Country Manager of Tieto China. Lui holds an MBA degree in International Business from the University of California at Berkeley. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas. Patrick Lui started his IT career at IBM Global Services where he led a wide range of IT projects and service rollouts with Fortune 500 companies. He then worked at Agile Software where he led the company's direct material sourcing and costing management solutions. Most recently, Patrick was part of the original executive team of Suzsoft, a startup in China. Lui will be based in Beijing.

Rajat Chauhan (1964) has been appointed Country Manager of Tieto India. Rajat holds a Master of Science degree from Delhi University in India. He started his career in the private sector joining FujitsuICIM as lead analyst working in the UK, Australia, the USA and India. He has a long experience in global delivery of applications and services. He has also worked at IBM Daksh to lead the integration of several teams and global delivery for newly established EMEA Business Transformation outsourcing. Recently he was in a client facing role responsible for strengthening the relationship with major telecom client. Rajat will be based in Pune.
