This new version of Icon, the latest in an on-going programme of upgrades, enables the more efficient handling of interest rate swaps, inflation swaps, total return swaps and currency swaps. It provides facilities for opening, closing and adjusting the notional nominal amount of swap contracts, and modifying swap transaction statuses and adds to Icon's already extensive instrument coverage.

Other benefits of Icon 5.30 include enhancements to Icon's login security functionality and its Capital Events system, plus changes to Icon's extensive online help facility.

Icon is used by over 80 customers in the UK, Europe and Middle East, including asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds and fund administrators.

Stuart Calder, Product Director for Linedata Services Northern Europe, commented, "Derivatives and swaps are not just the province of hedge fund managers; they are part of the mainstream now. Icon 5.30, the latest version in an on-going programme of functional and technology updates, reflects that reality. Icon is not only an excellent fund administration and accounting solution for traditional long-only asset managers; its scalability, modular format and flexible deployment options make it a suitable investment management solution for a wide variety of institutions, and our continued investment will ensure that it remains so."
