TietoEnator names Kavilesh Gupta EVP, service lines
Kavilesh Gupta (born 1968) has been appointed Executive Vice President of TietoEnator's service lines, the head of the IT service line and a member of the Leadership Team as of 1 December 2008.

Gupta holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Jammu University in India. He will join TietoEnator from TATA Consultancy Services Ltd where he has worked since 1995 in different international managerial positions in Finland, India, the UK and the USA. Since 2005 Gupta has been working as country head for TCS-Finland responsible for designing, developing and implementing TCS' growth strategy for the country.
President and CEO Hannu Syrjälä says: "Kavilesh Gupta has an extensive career in business development, sales and delivery positions during the past 17 years. His knowledge about the requirements of efficient industrialized IT combined with customer understanding will be great assets to TietoEnator. Kavilesh Gupta's role in TietoEnator's change is to develop TietoEnator's horizontal competencies and offerings and to drive the implementation of our global delivery model."
On 11 September, TietoEnator announced its desicion to establish new horizontal function called Service lines as of 1 January 2008. The purpose of the service lines is to drive development of company-wide competencies, horizontal offerings as well as the global delivery model. In the future there will be three service lines, which are IT, R&D and Digital Transformation and Consulting (DTC). The very short term aim is to guarantee the maximum fluidity of our competencies between the industries and countries and also new and more interesting carrier paths to our people.
