The new platform significantly increases the capacity and processing power available to customers of MFT's Managed Service, enabling the company to enhance services to customers while expanding products and services.

MFT selected IBM's new 'System i' technology in October 2006, opting for the System i 570 platform, whose specification provides uplift to 16,000 Commercial Processing Workload (CPW) and 200 Terra Bytes of storage space. In May 2007, MFT completed the transition of its entire customer base onto the new platform, on time and to budget.

Already customers are witnessing significant improvements in processing and performance capabilities.

David White, Client Services Director at MFT noted "I am pleased with results so far and the benefits it delivers to our customers. The introduction of IBM's System i technology reinforces our commitment to providing class-leading managed services."

Mark Batchelor, System i Director IBM UK, Ireland and South Africa said, "We are delighted that MFT have chosen our System i technology as the platform to deliver both performance improvements to their current clients and increased capacity, supporting their plans for future growth."

Gary Janaway, Head of Operations for Schroders Fund Services Luxembourg, and longstanding MFT services customer says, "Over the past 18 months we have consolidated more of our business onto MFT's platform and over the next three years we will continue this trend. The up scaling of their infrastructure is very timely and we are delighted with the benefits that we have already witnessed".
