Mojaloop Foundation adds directors to its board

Amanda Brock of OpenUK, Robert Karanja of CoDevelop, and Pat Patel of Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) will bring fresh perspectives and industry-leading best practices that will help shape Mojaloop’s future, ensuring its continued growth and success in advancing inclusive digital payments.

CEO of OpenUK, Amanda Brock has established one of the most recognized and impactful organizations in open source. A lawyer with 25 years of experience, Amanda has played a pivotal role in shaping open source legal frameworks, drawing on her experience in internet law since the early 2000s. She now has her sights on AI. She’s advised many not-for-profit and commercial organizations. Amanda is a globally sought-after keynote speaker and author, driving critical conversations at the intersection of technology, policy, and innovation.

Robert Karanja, Senior Director, Africa, Co-Develop
Robert Karanja currently serves as Senior Director at Co-Develop where he leads the firm’s strategic investments and partnerships in Africa leveraging on his experience and networks on the continent. He is currently working to advocate for the development of a credible African-led African-owned stack of digital public infrastructure assets that will change the trajectory of this[MB1] continent. In his role, he is deeply engaged with the Governments of Zambia, Rwanda, Ghana, Tanzania, Morocco, South Africa and others to provide relevant digital advisory to teams in each of the respective Governments. Robert is an avid advocate for digital public goods as an important tool in the adoption of digital public infrastructure across Africa.

Pat Patel, Co-CEO, Forums, Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN)
Pat is focused on building financial services and technology ecosystems across Asia, Africa, and Europe at both national and industry levels. Previously, he led the International FinTech Office at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) before spearheading the establishment and growth of Elevandi, a not-for-profit organization set up by the MAS, which played a pivotal role in globalizing the Singapore FinTech Festival and building new corridors across Africa and Europe. In 2024, Elevandi was succeeded by the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), whose mission is to harness technology and foster innovation through global partnerships for more efficient, resilient, and inclusive financial ecosystems. GFTN has built a global network of convening forums, offers advisory services on innovation ecosystems, provides access to transformative digital platforms, and invests in technology start-ups with the potential for growth and positive social impact. Prior to his public sector work, Pat was deeply involved in national instant payment systems during his time at VocaLink.
