An evolution of the Tyro Pro, the Tyro Pro Key is built to make payments fast, safe and easy for merchants operating in unique in-store environments, particularly health and hospitality.
Leveraging the robust integration capability of the Tyro Pro, the new addition to the Pro series combines touch screen convenience with traditional keypad functionality in one flexible payments terminal.

Tyro’s Head of Payments, Matt Patterson said the Tyro Pro Key responds to evolving merchant needs, which are specific to the industries they operate in, offering a versatile and flexible all-in-one payment solution.

“The Tyro Pro Key is the newest release in our next-generation terminal fleet and has been specifically designed in response to our customers who need both tactile keypad and touch screen input options on their EFTPOS terminal - such as merchants in busy in-person health environments, where tactile buttons offer better accessibility for patients and providers, and hospitality businesses where both a large screen and a physical keypad make payments easier amongst wet glasses and food service,” Mr Patterson said.

“The Tyro Pro Key is built to meet these unique industry-specific needs while offering our merchants the robust features, security and reliability that our Tyro Pro series has become known for,” he said.

With the Tyro Pro Key merchants can take advantage of benefits including:
• Improved accessibility with hybrid interface - merchants can choose to use a full touchscreen or touchscreen with tactile keypad.
• Easy integration and set-up - integrates seamlessly with more than 350 point-of-sale (POS) solutions and can be set up online.
• Full portability for flexible payment processing - a mobile EFTPOS terminal to take payments wherever your business operates, with all-day battery life.
Tyro CEO and Managing Director Jon Davey said the Tyro Pro Key is a result of company-wide obsession with small business success and the powerful capability of Tyro’s in-house payments technology.

“At Tyro, we build the applications that run on our terminals, integrate with 350+ POS providers and process transactions through our own in-house switch. It’s this deep in-house payments expertise that has always differentiated Tyro, equipping us with the flexibility to design to merchant needs and the rapidly changing payments landscape. The Tyro Pro Key is yet another example of Tyro’s unique ability to build advanced solutions that make payments fast, safe and reliable for Australian merchants,” Mr Davey said.

The Tyro Pro Key is available now for Tyro customers and will be available for Tyro Health customers from mid 2025.
