In this role, Ola will drive the expansion of CelsiusPro Group’s parametric solutions through the London Market, aiding private- and public-sector clients in enhancing their climate resilience.

Ola’s experience spans over 13 years in the London Market. He joins from Descartes Underwriting, where he was UK & Ireland Business Development Director for parametric solutions. Previously, Ola was Senior Broker at Gallagher as well as Broker Success Manager at FloodFlash. He has also served as Member of the Management Board of Lloyd’s of London Community Programme.

Mark Rueegg, CEO of CelsiusPro Group, stated: “Ola’s experience and broad network across the London Market aligns perfectly with our mission to continue taking parametrics to centre stage and make parametric risk transfer a key component of risk management strategies.”

The market for parametric insurance is growing at a fast rate. The industry is still in early stages of adoption, but there is a strong recognition of its potential as a valuable complement to insurance portfolios and build resilience against pressing perils such as extreme weather and natural catastrophe (NatCat) events

“I look forward to working with insurers and brokers to accelerate the penetration of parametric insurance, giving clients the best protection against climate and NatCat risks,” said Ola Jacob. “By leveraging CelsiusPro Group’s award winning technology, we shall work to continue enhancing the tangible benefits of parametric products. Stronger partnerships between insurers, brokers, and clients will be important in fostering understanding and trust.”
