DoubleCheck announced the appointment of Ashwin (“Ash”) Rangan as its new chief executive officer. Rangan succeeds outgoing co-CEOs Joel Schwartz and Bill Amelio.
Ash Rangan brings a wealth of experience in innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), and scaling businesses to DoubleCheck, an award-winning financial technology platform that benefits credit unions, banks and their customers. He most recently served as chief innovation and information officer (CIIO) at ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.
His prior experiences in leadership and c-suite positions with growth-stage opportunities include: tech exec at Bank of America, helping acquire over 1 million new customers on the BofA iPhone app; CIO at Walmart.com, helping deliver over $1 billion in revenue on a nascent e-commerce platform; and senior vice president of business process re-engineering and IT at Conexant Systems, helping grow volumes and revenue to over $2 billion.

Rangan earned a master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Mumbai, and a BS degree in engineering from Bangalore University in India. He recently co-authored the book “Governance in the Age of Gen AI” and it is being published under the Simon & Schuster publication umbrella. He is certified by Harvard Kennedy School and Carnegie Mellon in cybersecurity. Additionally, he is a Certified Corporate Director from UCLA and is a sought-after keynote speaker on technology and innovation.
Schwartz will continue to serve as Chief Innovation Officer, and Amelio will continue to serve on the DoubleCheck Advisory Board.
