In future, the new European payment method Wero will also be available for payment at the charging station or petrol pump.

Wero launch expected for mid-2025

Wero was integrated into the Computop Paygate payment platform in November 2024. This means that retailers and service providers can now prepare for the implementation of the new payment method. Payments can be processed as soon as the first Wero acquirers are ready to go live. The operating company EPI expects the B2C business to start in mid-2025.

Wero will complement the existing ‘Pay to Drive’ offering, which includes payment methods for smartphones such as Apple Pay with girocard, Google Pay and the new Click to Pay credit card option. It also includes typical payment methods from online retail, as well as popular local methods such as Swish in Sweden, Twint in Switzerland and Blik in Poland.

Wero payments for mobility services will also be the subject of a presentation by Computop CEO Ralf Gladis at the UNITI Mobility Payment Forum on 15/16 January 2025 in Hamburg.
