Camunda will provide advanced workflow capabilities to the bank, which will streamline both internal operations and customer-facing processes. In addition, Rabobank will be using Camunda to ensure compliance with data protection regulations, minimizing the risk of exposing sensitive customer data. The payments domain is the first in Rabobank to use Camunda, where it will be implemented in the sales journeys for current accounts.

The Rabobank team selected Camunda for its ability to integrate with the many external systems that are a part of the customer journey, as well as the internal systems employees use every day. Visibility into running and historical processes was another key differentiator for Camunda, as the team is now easily able to identify opportunities for process improvement. The team also wanted to leverage BPMN and DMN, business process and decision modeling standards, to help improve the collaboration and understanding between business and IT. Furthermore, Camunda’s developer-friendly tooling enables Rabobank’s development team to get up and running quickly.

Last week, the first internal case-management flow, orchestrated by Camunda, went to production.

Louwris Wernink, IT Lead Payment, Rabobank said: “At the moment our front-end is taking care of a lot of the orchestration of our sales architecture. When we need to make a change in our user interface, it can take quite some time, because a lot of business logic is integrated in the front-end. Moving this logic and orchestration to Camunda will simplify our front-end, and with that, decrease our time to market. Using Camunda’s technology, we can handle complex processes with different kinds of endpoints more efficiently.”

Frederic Meier, senior vice president, sales, Camunda, added: “Financial services organizations like Rabobank are turning to process orchestration to not only achieve operational excellence, but also remain compliant with ever-changing global regulations. We are proud to partner with Rabobank to help the company further improve its customer experience, internal operations, and security capabilities with our process orchestration solution.”
