The acquisition builds on American Express’ previous investments in dining, travel, and entertainment, expanding the company’s suite of digital tools for restaurants and merchants to better serve their customers and the number of restaurants offered through American Express channels.

“We’re delighted to welcome the Tock team to American Express. This acquisition will enhance our dining platform by making more restaurants and dining experiences available through American Express, providing restaurants and other hospitality businesses with more tools, and over time, connecting them to our network of premium diners,” said Pablo Rivero, Vice President, American Express Global Dining, CEO Resy. “We look forward to working with Matt Tucker and the Tock team to build a world class digital dining platform.”

Tock, launched in Chicago in 2014 and acquired by Squarespace in 2021, provides reservation and table management as well as event ticketing solutions to approximately 7,000 restaurants, wineries, hotels and other bookable venues. Adding Tock’s network of restaurants and innovative suite of products to American Express Global Dining will deliver even more unforgettable experiences for diners.

With the close of the deal, Matthew Tucker, Head of Tock, will continue to lead Tock as part of American Express, and will report to Pablo Rivero, Vice President, American Express Global Dining, CEO Resy.

“We are proud of everything we’ve built at Tock, and we are thrilled to join a global industry leader like American Express,” said Matthew Tucker, Head of Tock. “With Tock’s exceptional products, experienced team, and premium customer base, we look forward to working together to broaden American Express’ world class dining program.”

Effective today, Tock will operate as an independent division of American Express Global Dining.
