Ecommpay, the inclusive global payments platform has launched a new brand identity and inclusivity programme, reflecting its focus on accessibility, inclusivity and sustainability and closely tied to its mission to achieve ultimate financial inclusivity.
Ecommpay for Good is a dedicated on-going programme focused on inclusivity and providing merchants with critical support to improve their own accessibility. Making a website more accessible can drive 23-24% more traffic to a website .
Ecommpay has made a significant commitment to the accessibility of its own website and payments platform, using colours, fonts and layouts that ensure accessibility for those with visual and hearing impairment and cognitive and physical disabilities. The Ecommpay website, mobile SDK and hosted payment page is undergoing a rigorous three-strand testing process by the Digital Accessibility Centre to ensure it meets the WC3 (World Wide Web Consortium) WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.2 AA standard for accessibility. It expects the outcome of all tests to be complete and to achieve certification from the Digital Accessibility Centre by the end of September 2024.
Ecommpay is also empowering merchants to improve their digital presence with free access to a Guide to Digital Accessibility which outlines the actions needed to meet the WC3 WCAG 2.2 AA standard for accessibility.
As Miranda McLean, Chief Marketing Officer at Ecommpay explained, the Ecommpay for Good programme is not only designed to empower merchants to create the most inclusive e-commerce presence, but for their customers to also have an accessible and inclusive payment experience.

Ecommpay has worked with the Digital Accessibility Centre to create a Guide to Digital Accessibility that covers every aspect of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines with a checklist for developers to reference as they build and maintain their websites. Ecommpay’s partnerships with Project Nemo and the European Women in Payments Network (EWPN) further underline its commitment to inclusivity. EWPN is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to building a community for women in cards, FinTech and payments across Europe.
Project Nemo is a grassroots initiative led by Joanne Dewar, industry champion and former FinTech CEO. The project works with disability champions and service providers to educate on how to make the industry more inclusive. As part of its growing commitment to diversity and inclusion, Ecommpay is partnering with Project Nemo to help address and ultimately solve accessibility within FinTech and Payments by providing support and expertise across multiple areas of the campaign throughout the year.
