The SwiftNet FIX service has been designed to eliminate the need for firms to maintain multiple network and application connections to trading partners for standards-based electronic trade communications. The new participants join over 40 firms already participating in the early adopter programme.

Mats Toren, global head of IT project management at Enskilda Securities, says: "Introducing FIX messaging over SwiftNet will help Enskilda Securities to achieve increased operational efficiencies in the processing of our securities transactions."

Refelecting Swift's ambitions to penetrate deeper into the securities business, the interbank payments network intends to launch a fixed income pilot programme for users of the latest FIX release, version 4.4 in the first quarter 2004.
