Charles River IMS is a front and middle office system providing order management, portfolio management and real-time compliance.

T Rowe Price is using the system for trading and order managment for a range of securities including taxable money market, municipal short term, municipal long term, corporates and high yield. The firm says IMS is handling on average over 11,000 deals per month.

The implementation of the system's compliance module is currently underway and T Rowe Price also intends to deploy the portfolio management component to provide users with portfolio modelling, 'what if' analysis and security swapping. The system also features an interface to TradeWeb for electronic fixed income execution and settlement.

John Sadowski, fixed income operations manager, T Rowe Price, says: "We are confident that Charles River will continue to provide updated fixed income functionality and that the system is scalable to support our needs as we grow."
